� � � � �Now for those of you who don't know what mage the ascension is, it's a role playing game put out by White Wolf as part of their World of Darkness. The world is much like ours simply darker and more menacing. Vampires rome the city streets at night controling and destroying people's lives. Werewolves prowl the wilderness defending the remaining wild places from the cold steel hand of man and the reastless dead wander both this world and the next seeking some closure before passing on to whatever fate may await them.
� � � � �There are also Mages, those men and women who've had that undefinable inner spark somehow awakend within them, allowing feats of sheer will that can shatter mountains or heat up a cold cup of cocoa. Such power isn't without pitfalls or enemies. Hubris and Paradox will claim many, with god like power at your fingertips who among us could resist pride or just that urge to show off? Those that do survive face even more danger, the monolithic Technocracy with it's half man half machine HIT Mark V's and Men in Black, to the hellish evil of the Naphandi, the corrupted minions of the nameless beings that lurk outside the Horizion.
� � � The mages, being individuals, all have a singular and very personal way of viewing Magick. Magick is an act of will if you beleive you can create a fireball with some bat guano you can! It's all in the eyes of the viewer. The majority of Mages find or are found by other more experienced mages.

The Nine Traditions- Nine groups with differing world views all with
a common goal to save humanity
The Technocracy- Monolithic seemingly unstopable they control the
world through money and technology
The Marauders- Not really a group simply a catagory for those driven
insane by the power they weild
The Nephandi- Dark evil minions of otherworldly powers who's only
goal is the conquest and or destruction of earth
